The Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) and its Technical Support Office (TSO), in partnership with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), conducted its first ever Green Public Procurement (GPP) Workshop, joined by the recently designated GPP Focal Persons (FPs) from various key stakeholders, on 1 December 2022 in Pasig City.

The workshop provided an avenue for holding festive discussions on the status of the implementation of the Green Public Procurement of the Philippines, status updates on the Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) project in the country, and government strategies in incorporating SCP in the Philippines Public Procurement System.

Executive Director Ruiz concluded the event by emphasizing that the GPP is not merely for compliance and procurement ‘greenwashing’ but is an initiative towards sustainable production, consumption, and disposal of items that make an impact on the environment and economy.
