Procurement Summit 2019: Fostering Stakeholders Participation towards a Strong and Responsive Procurement
The GPPB and its Technical Support Office (TSO) conducted this year’s Procurement Summit held last 25-26 March 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila wherein hundreds of public officials, development partners and private sector representatives attended said two day event.
The first day gave recognition to some public officials for their achievements in public procurement headed by former GPPB Chairperson and newly appointed Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Benjamin E. Diokno and former GPPB-TSO Executive Director Dennis S. Santiago. The event also recognized the first batch of graduates for the Professionalization Course on Public Procurement which was implemented by the GPPB-TSO in coordination with the University of the Philippines.
The second day concentrated more on trainings and workshops for public officials and private sector representatives on the new updates on procurement as well as discussed on how to further improve the business processes of public procurement. Dedicated booths were also installed showcasing the products of the private sector representatives informing the representatives of the procuring entities of their products and services for potential engagement in the future.
